If so, you may be eligible to participate in a clinical trial being conducted by La Trobe University and funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia. The aim of the study is to determine the effectiveness of shoe inserts combined with physical therapy for reducing big toe joint pain.
To be eligible, you need to be aged over 18 years and have pain in your big toe joint for more than 3 months. To participate, you need to attend four appointments at the Health Sciences Clinic at La Trobe University and complete monthly mail-out questionnaires over a 12 month period.
All participants will receive treatment free of charge.
